Audio pancake have been playing live
techno since 1993, they were one of the first exponents
of live techno helping to build the then emerging sound
of acid techno. Almost legendary, at the time, they played
all major venues across the country (Brixton Academy,
The Fridge, The Dome, Electrowerks, Mass, The Rocket,
and may more) and at every free party of the time, building
a name for themselves as a leading live techno act. They
have gone on to perform across Europe, including Poland,
Spain, and are currently building a following in San Paulo,
Brazil, where people are loving the sound.
Audio pancake are made up of Geezer (Guy McAffer) and
Carlos Fandango (Carl Hendrickse) who have been making
music together for at least 15 years, in many forms,
including a band in which "Dave the drummer" also drummed
for them.
Progressing into techno by the mid 90's they began releasing
their own brand of Acid techno on such labels as Smitten,
S.U.F. Infected, Bionic orange, Karmic, and Routemaster.
The full acid sound of this live act attracted many
people to the growing acid techno scene, with up to
three live 303's and two 909's pounding out the acid
sound which has now become the trade mark sound of so
many records from that time.
Still playing regularly at free parties, Audio pancake
have evolved their sound, taking on a more up to date
techno vibe whilst still keeping the addictive acid
sound which they are famous for. They have recorded
a more techno sound, under the name "the undertakers",
but still keep the old acid vibe going as the people
love it.
The unique live sound of two 909's and multiple 303's
is the unmistakable trade mark of these two seasoned
performers, guaranteed to rock the dance floor of any
club worldwide.
